Up-cycled Jewelry

by admin on February 18, 2011

I was asked to teach a class on Up-cycled Jewelry at our High School this week.  Lucky for me I had a great project already in mind. I got the idea at The Creative Connection’s Pajama Party where I got to make the easiest bracelet EVER!

It was made out of a section of a Water Bottle and strips of knit fabric (for this class we used old T-shirts)

The class had about 20 students … 4 of which were boys!

We started off cutting the water bottle rings,

then strips of t-shirt fabric and started gluing…

and wrapping.

Notice the intense look of concentration on their faces.

Buttons were added to some.

A couple of girls made matching rings.

It was a fun experience and I think that the kids did a great job.

I have a renewed respect for the teachers…and the students…in our schools.

Awesome!
